MARCH GATHERINGS
presenting "The Faces of Domestic Violence"
next Tuesday, March 6th, 9:30 - 11:30 am in Asbury Hall
Domestic violence is not a private family matter and statistics show that one in four women will be a victim of family violence. There is a need for outreach and education in faith communities about domestic violence since it can happen to anyone of any race, age, sexual orientation, religion, socio-economic status, or gender. UMW members will present role-plays of abusive relationships. We will also be observing Lent with a traditional UMW service of Call to Prayer and Self Denial.
Meet us in Asbury Hall at 9:30 for fellowship and brunch refreshments before the program begins at 10 am. There will be women you will recognize and new friends, too. Of course, you are welcome to bring a friend. There is no charge for this event and all are welcome. Contact Beverly Shults (214-739-1216), LLUMW President, or Peggy Martin, UMW Programs, for more information. The Deborah group will be hosting. Childcare will be provided when you call Alicia Jahnke (214-706-9535) 48 hours ahead.
